Where Cross Timbers County Youth Raise Champions.
Since 1968, the Cross Timbers County Youth Livestock Show has celebrated agriculture, family, and community in Cross Timbers County. Each spring, families come together for a weekend of youth livestock shows and the Junior Livestock Premium Auction, built by generations of local ranching families.
The show is organized and run by a volunteer board, a handful of standing committees, and hundreds of community volunteers each year.
The Cross Timbers County Youth Livestock Show was founded in 1968 by a small group of local ranching families and county extension agents who wanted a place for young people in 4-H and FFA to show what they'd raised over the year. What began as a single-day show at the county courthouse square has grown into a multi-day event drawing exhibitors and buyers from across the region, while still keeping the youth livestock show at its center.
Today's grounds — the Cross Timbers County Livestock Center — were built through decades of fundraising and volunteer labor by the same kind of families who started it all.
Show operations are coordinated by a set of standing committees, each chaired by a board member and staffed by volunteers: Livestock & Auction, Sponsorship, Grounds & Facilities, and Volunteers & Hospitality. Reach out through the Contact section below if you'd like to get involved with a committee.
